Team Lead

AVA Roasteria is a chain of upscale coffee houses located in the heart of communities around the Portland Metro (Beaverton, Portland, Hillsboro, and Lake Oswego)

We are open late and provide fresh baked pastries and our own fresh roasted coffee beans.

AVA Roasteria provides a great selection of hot and cold coffee beverages, loose leaf teas, fresh baked pastries, and an assortments of gourmet sandwiches, fresh salads, and soups.

AVA Roasteria is proud to serve our community with the highest standard of quality. Our goal is to create a unique experience for everyone that walks through our doors.

Ava Roasteria is looking for an energetic, detail oriented leader. Our spacious coffeehouse offers micro-roasted coffee, freshly baked pastries, and made-to-order sandwiches. Position is open for our Beaverton, and Hillsboroloactions.

As a Team Lead you will work with our baristas, executive admin, and ownership to oversee the daily operations of the storefront. An important responsibility in this role is the maintenance of a positive work environment in order to ensure a top-tier experience for our customers. This requires you to be flexible and adapt to change so you may take on whatever attention the store, employees, or customers may need. Our leaders excel when they are able to exhibit a composed and collected attitude that helps them balance the diverse needs of the store in the midst of constant change.

  • 3 years coffee shop or managerial experience
  • Thorough knowledge of espresso based drinks
  • The ability to adequately describe and sell micro-roasted coffee beans
  • Proficient use of programs such as Excel and G Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to multitask and frequently adjust priorities, especially when performing work under pressure
  • Well-organized and detail oriented
  • Availability to work within operating hours (including weekends and holidays)
  • Performs all barista duties at the highest level
  • Creates a positive, fun work environment
  • Manages baristas when working on the floor, maximizing in-store efficiency through delegation and constructive feedback
  • Tracks employee performance and works to improve staff through proper feedback and training
  • Responsible for cash handling, daily financial reports, and bank deposits
  • Tracks inventory management and pars
  • Places orders for store to ensure proper stocking
  • Works with Area Lead to improve store sales
  • Meets with leadership team on a recurring basis to discuss company wide operations
